The third in a series of super saturated sunsets, created almost entirely for past art teachers and critics who told me not to use color straight out of the tube. While the Bubblegum Sunset series is not composed entirely of unmixed pigments they do have the full range of saturation, from heavily mixed colors all the way through totally unmixed. I should note that this unconventional style has been one of my most successful styles, and the recent popularity of high dynamic range imaging confirms my original suspicion, there is a ton of color range in everyday life that most artists don’t utilize. Go ahead and use fully saturated red,blue.etc. just make sure it is part of a wide range of saturation and your image will look natural, and you too can wink at your detractors in defiance. 😉

One of my most requested styles, this piece resembles the work of my youth. I was obsessed with comic books and anime and my art style reflected my reading. This piece is special because it is a painting of my muse, my wife Megan. She is my greatest inspiration, so when she demanded that she be drawn in 1990s Amar’s anime style, I couldn’t resist pulling even more things we both love together in “She’s Got Character”. powerful female figures, skateboards, natural wood grain, bold colors, comic and anime styling, and a simple bold composition.
